New Game

I love games...

So, my quandary this morning actually appears to have resolved itself.  That said, neither Willowyn or Christine are under any obligation to purchase the sticks they've reserved, they just get first dibs.  After all, I was the one asking for help.

This quandary problem and resolution naturally led me to a new game we're going to call "Who Wants It".  In this fabulous game (there's that word again), you're going to be given 3 or 4 facts about the stick such as Blackwood, +/- length (meaning 1/4" either way), wooden top or resin throughout... you get the idea.  Then we're going to post a picture of it in it's raw form, specifically for pinecone sticks, it's at this stage that the color explosions are at their greatest.  In fact, that pink ivory from a few days ago stopped me in my tracks when I turned off the lathe after the 1st cut.  It was the most unbelievable thing I've ever seen, I called Erin and told her to come home... now, you've gotta see this!

So, back to the game, you'll be given the facts along with the raw form picture, and you get to design it from there... I'm so excited, I think it addresses and solves a lot of problems.  I don't have to worry (more specifically, the D.O.E.E.), if it will sell, and you get what you want.  The only downside that I see right now is that Friday Night Sales might be a thing of the past.

I might have one later today, if not... definitely tomorrow.

  1. Super cool idea! I love it and will look forward to what will be appearing. I'm keeping my eyes open for pinecone resin all the way to the top with stars...stars.. stars... maybe I'll get lucky!!

  2. I'm so excited about this, I just called Erin and told her to buy me a camera. She thinks I'm nuts. Even though it will save her the trouble of schlepping up and down the stairs every time I have a whim... it's a good thing.

  5. I love this idea too and glad this mornings problem worked itself out. I think that purple stick will sell soon, it's a beauty. I myself am looking out for a seashell lovers stick in dark wood and mint fwp with a paua inset topper, reminds me of mint chocolate!

  6. This could be dangerous. There have been so many times I've seen something post in the shop and I thought to myself 'if only it was/had XYZ' I know for some it's just a matter of length.

  7. Not saying it's going to happen, but just out of idle curiosity Susan, what length?

  11. Oh, and another epiphany, my phone works just fine for talkin'. Now, if there were only another photographic device in the house... I don't, maybe something like an Ipad? My photographic dilemma seems to be resolved. It takes me time, but I usually and eventually get there..
